SO THAT FAITH CAN GROW
Growing up within faith as a child or youth among a small religious minority is a challenge for the entire community of faith. To be and to prove yourself as the only Catholic Christian in your class at school, among your friends, in everyday life is often difficult. Especially for children and youths, a lack of experiencing community can get in the way of confidently saying yes to faith and the Church.
We therefore support projects that enable young people to meet up and experience community within faith in a variety of ways, in regions with a percentage of Catholics of 12 % or less in Germany and Northern Europe, as well as in Estonia and Latvia. We support both pastoral and social, charitable initiatives, religious education projects and holiday camps, religious children’s weeks (RKW), religious pre-school education and Catholic day-care centres for children. We grant material cost subsidies for media and teaching aids for religious education.
Every child should be taken seriously, effectively supported and challenged with respect to his or her individual abilities, preferences and talents.
