The Catholic Information and Media Center offers a deeper, and more reflective, awareness of the faith for those who are already members of the Catholic Church of Estonia, as well as for those who are still discovering the roots of the Catholic faith. The Center has offered its services since August 2021. The Catholic Information and Media Center provides seminars, lectures, books presentations, and various online events in Tallinn.

More about the project

Pope Francis’ chosen theme for the 55th World Day of Social Communications 2021 is "Come and see" (Jn 1:46). The theme should also be the slogan for all Catholic media projects in Estonia, both today and in the future. Three main directions or guidelines have been developed for the media work of the Catholic Church in Estonia for the coming years: (1) to focus and streamline the work of the Catholic Information and Media Center; (2) to meet the challenges of social media and communication; (3) to successfully communicate the Beatification of the Servant of God Eduard Profittlich SJ.

It offers an important platform to support the goal of communicating the beatification process of the Servant of God Eduard Profittlich SJ. The Apostolic Administration of Estonia is also preparing to celebrate its 100th anniversary in 2024, which will certainly receive much public attention in the coming years.

The second media guideline is the work to follow social media developments in the Catholic Church of Estonia. Social media offer both opportunities and challenges, but the most important categories are promoting visibility and building community. The goal is to reform and renew the social media channels of the Catholic Church in various languages in Estonia.

Thanks to the financial support of Bonifatiuswerk, and the initiative of the Apostolic Administrator of Estonia, Bishop Philippe Jourdan, the Catholic Church in Estonia will be able to expand its efforts in the press and media-relation fields in the following years. At the same time, and again thanks to this support, the Catholic Church in Estonia will be well prepared for the much-desired beatification of the Servant of God Eduard Profittlich SJ, including the collaboration with the media networks of Bonifatiuswerk, which is the third of the highlighted media event in coming years for the universal Church.

"In my work, the most important thing is to be a witness of Truth. I keep always fixed in my mind the Holy Father Pope Francis’ message for World Communications Day: "As we read the Scriptures, the stories of the saints, and also those texts that have shed light on the human heart and its beauty, the Holy Spirit is free to write in our hearts, reviving our memory of what we are in God’s eyes." May the Love and Mercy of God shine in us, keeping always in mind these words."
